I’m back in Seoul for the third time to look younger, more rejuvenated and lovelier! It’s also my second visit to
Regen Plastic Surgery. This round, I’m getting a lower eye transconjuctival fat repositioning and a fat graft touch-up on my face. I’ve done my
full face fat graft along with facial contouring surgeries in September last year. Regen has kept my fat for half a year so that I can come back within 6 months for a free touch-up.
For the longest time, I’ve people asking me if I’m sick or if I’ve had a late night out, even though when I’ve clocked 8 hours of restful slumber. The culprit – my hollowing eyes coupled with thin skin, visible veins, and unflattering dark eye circles. I’ve tried fillers and fat graft to plump up the hollows but both yield limited results.

Dr Oh Myung Jun from Regen had told me last year that fillers and fat graft are merely camouflage or stop gap measures, and transconjuctival fat repositioning is the way to go. I’m heeding his advice, so here I am, back to Seoul and Regen.

I have absolute confidence in the safety and integrity of the hospital and I trust the professionalism and skills of both Dr Oh and Dr Kim. Both have amassed impressive accolades, and accumulated years of plastic surgery experience.
I was at Regen last year for zygoma reduction, vline (jaw) and full face fat grafting surgeries and Dr Oh was my surgeon. I choose to come back to Regen this year because I’m happy with the results. It also makes sense to see Dr Oh for a follow-up. Regen recommends Dr Kim for my under eye surgery because he’s the eye specialist. The awesome thing about Regen is there’s a doctor who specializes in his/her own field so you’re getting the best master for the job, and not a jack of all trades.
The 15-storey Regen building is conveniently located at exit 6, Sinnonhyeon Station, within 15-20 mins walking distance to Gangnam.
Regen also offers impeccable service for overseas patients. I’ve got complimentary pickups to/from Incheon airport, and help with my hotel booking! There’re also competent English and Chinese translators at the hospital so I don’t have to worry about language barriers.

Getting interviewed by Taiwanese TV Channel on consultation and surgery day
I’m having my consultation and surgery on the same day. Fingers crossed, may everything be “swee swee” (prefect) and give my tired-looking eyes a new lease of life. What’s also exciting is, I’m going to be interviewed by 台湾三立新闻台 – a Taiwanese TV channel reporting on international patients coming to South Korea for plastic surgeries! It’s quite interesting having the TV and Regen crew shadowing me and documenting my experience at every step of my journey.

I’m having the first round of consultation with Jina Kim, Regen’s senior consultant. She’s super friendly, has a gorgeous smile and speaks excellent English. Basically, this is for me to tell her what I hope to do, she’ll give me her preliminary suggestions, then she’ll discuss with the doctors prior to me meeting them.
It’s always a joy to talk to Jina. She’s listening to me attentively and taking notes.
Next, I get to meet Dr Oh. He was my surgeon last year, and he’ll be doing my fat graft touch-up. Did you know that he also did facial contouring surgeries for Bong Qiu Qiu – the famous Singaporean blogger?! Dr Oh is quite a high profile surgeon, having appeared on the popular Korean reality TV Let Me In, and represented Regen as a keynote speaker in conferences.
It’s wonderful to see Dr Oh again! Regen stores my fat for up to 6 months, and since I’m within the period, my fat graft touch-up is FREE!

I meet Dr Kim just before the surgery. He’s the eye specialist of Regen. I’m enamoured by his mild mannerism, politeness, and sincerity. It makes me want to trust him right away! He’ll be doing a transconjuctival fat repositioning to remove my eye bags, fill up my tear troughs, and add a little fat to my cheeks to create a smoother transition from my lower eyelid to my cheeks.

Shortly after, I’m asked to change into the hospital pajamas and prep for surgery. I’m under local anesthesia and completely blackout during the surgery. The next thing I hear is a nurse calling my name a couple of hours later. I’ve no recollection on how I get to the recovery room. When I wake up, there’s no sharp pain, just slight discomfort. There’s lots of swelling so it’s a little difficult to open my eyes at first. There’s not much crusting, just very, very swollen eyes. I’m discharged right away and I can even eat some porridge!
The reporters tell me that my hands are still moving during the surgery, but I’m actually totally under. I can’t feel or remember anything at all.
Just out of surgery and being interviewed by 台湾三立新闻台! Some of the questions asked include how long is my intended stay, where I’ve ventured so far, what surgeries I’ve done, why I choose Regen and will I consider Regen for future surgeries.
